Racing Pigeons being released near Monmouth.....

The first lorry to release 3,500 racing pigeons, this trailer releases another 300.....amazing sight when they flew off:o)

The man said to stand where l was cause the birds would all fly away from me.......hah he was wrong, l had to duck..lol

l've zoomed in on this one....all heading towards me:o)

This is the 2nd lorry (he arrived the day before,Sat). Thats Vic to the right of lorry......lol
Approx 2,000 birds....

The 3rd lorry and trailer, with another 3,000 birds. This man was really rushing, another man came to help as they have to release them on time.

The first lorry was from Liverpool, the birds would be back before the lorry!!!!

The 2nd lorry was from Wrexham and the 3rd also from Liverpool.

Very interesting and time consuming hobby. All the lorries had water and feeding systems set up, we could see the birds drinking and feeding, all well looked after.

Nearly 9,000 birds were released:o)
